End Of Tour - Lincoln, Ne

Around 6:30 p.m. we all headed over to Speedway Motors for a tour of the Smith Collection Museum.  The museum contains an outstanding collection of antique racing engins, pedal cars and other automotive racing memorabilia.

Josh really had a good time looking at all the old racing cars and they even let him sit in an actual "Indy" racing car and have his picture taken.

But I think it was the collection of old pedal cars that he enjoyed the most.  They must have thousands of these toy cars that have been restored and placed on display.

Just when I thought this year's tour was going to end on a good note, we were treated to the sound of tornado sirens when we exited the museum.  That's all I needed to make the trip complete - getting caught in a tornado or hail storm.  Some of the people cranked up and were headed back to the motel but I tuned in a local radio station and they said the storm was moving away from where we were and toward the direction of the motel.

I decided to just hang around in the Museum parking lot and see if the storm blew over.  Sure enough, after about 30 minutes the threat seemed to have passed so we headed back to the motel.  When we got back some of the people at the motel said they had torrential rain and hail at the motel.  I was glad we decided to wait.

Just to be safe, I put the truck cover on Maych.  It's not much, but it could provide an little protection if we got more hail that night.

The next morning, everything seemed to be okay.  We had gotten more rain through the night because the truck cover was holding about 2 inches of water over the truck bed.

Josh and I packed up and headed back to Grand Island.  This wasn't the most pleasurable tour I have been on, but I guess it will be the most memorable one.  The most important thing was that Josh had a good time and he wants to go again next year.
