The "home base" for the 2005 "Tour
Nebraska" was at the Best Western
Villager Inn in Nebraska's state capital, Lincoln.
The motel had a swimming pool and that made it a wonderful place to
stay as for as Josh was concerned. He spent most of his time in
the pool when we were at the motel.
We also took a little time to walk
around the motel grounds and look at the other cars. Josh is into
Japanese tuner cars, as most boys his age are, but he said some the the
hot rods on the tour are "pretty neat", also.
The next morning we all
met at 6:30 a.m. in the parking lot of State Farm Insurance's Regional
office. Josh wasn't sure about getting up at 5:00 a.m. on a
Saturday morning, but he was fine after a big breakfast at the motel.
State Farm's Regional office is a big complex with lots of parking space
and we used most of it, as over 340 cars were registered for the first
day's tour. At 7:00 o'clock we headed out on the road.
