End of Tour - ST. Paul, Ne
The end of the 2003 tour was in St. Paul at the
Club House of the Royal Coachmen Car Club.
The club sponsored the lunch and gave the tour members a guided tour of
their club house. Not many car clubs have a club house of their
own and they are deservedly proud of it.
Unfortunately, I missed out on the good food and the
tour of the clubhouse in St. Paul. When we reached
Columbus the skies became rather
ominous looking and I had visions of Maych getting
pounding by a hail storm. So, rather than continue on the tour to
St. Paul, we headed south on Highway 30 back to Grand Island. As
it turned out, that was a bad decision. The storm never
materialized. The decision to skip the stop in St. Paul also
disappointed my Daughter and Grandson. Unbeknown to us, they had
decided to travel to St. Paul that morning, watch us roll into town and
then have lunch with us. My Grandson was also planning to ride
back to Grand Island in Maych. I decided that next
year I wouldn't deviate from the tour. Other than this screw-up,
we had a very enjoyable time, met some new friends, and saw a lot of the
State we had never seen before. I'll definitely be going on
Tour Nebrasksa 2004.
