Evening Stop - Norfolk, Ne

The drive from Hartington back to Norfolk was the shortest leg of the day, which was good because we were beginning to get a little tired.  Man, I wish this old pickup had cruise control.  But at least I have air conditioning, which a lot of the other cars don't.  The wind blowing in your hair is fine for about the first hundred miles.  After that it's just annoying.

Upon arrival back in Norfolk we headed for Ta-Ha-Zooka Park where the evening activities would take place.  A local car club was having a car show in the park and they had invited us to be a part of it.  We didn't actually enter the car show, we just provided more cars for the crowd to view.  I think there were over 400 cars on display at the park.

After a hamburger meal, we popped the top on a couple of cold ones, kicked back, and enjoyed some 50's tunes from a local band.   It's hard to believe how many of the old songs I still remember the words to.  Especially Beach Boys songs like Little Deuce Coup.

The wife and I headed back to the motel about 8:30 PM.  Between the long day, the meal, and a couple of cold ones, we were bushed and we had another early start in the morning for Day 2 of the tour.
